There are a lot of beautiful mushrooms around in our woodland areas, this one was on the side of a path I was walking along recently.
What can be easily forgotten is that as beautiful or unusual they may be the work the funghi do is well under the ground giving moisture to the trees and taking away the bad stuff that trees collect and put into the earth, like carbon.
We can be like them, being seen, showing our love for God and each other BUT also doing so much more that is maybe not seen by others ; caring for and helping others, getting involved with charities and praying. There is so much we can do in God’s name without anyone really knowing, except God himself.

Today, 6 October, the day traditionally remembered as the anniversary of William Tyndale’s ex*****on in 1536, I warmly invite you to join me in prayer. As we celebrate 500 years of the first translation of the New Testament into English by Tyndale, may we listen to God’s voice through Scripture and share the love of the God of the Bible with all. Let us turn Bible-reading into Bible-living, pitching God’s tent of love, peace and justice among our neighbours.

This is a rock, not concrete that has been coloured and shaped. It is rock that has been crushed, shaped and ‘layered’ by the sea, by ice and all the other ‘events’ that happened when the earth was forming and changing. It’s beautiful.
We are influenced and shaped by events that happen in our lives, by God leading us through our faith in him.
You may not think it but you are beautiful too, in Gods eyes. He loves you and wants you to show your inner beauty to everyone. So let’s glow and glimmer with the love we have within us, sharing it with those around us.

On this first day of October we remember those who grow, gather and produce the food we eat and thank God for them and their constant dedication.
Our hymn verse ;-
Come ye thankful people come,
Raise the song of harvest home!
Fruit and crops are gathered in,
Safe before the storms begin.
God our maker will provide
For our needs to be supplied.
Come, with all his people come,
Raise the song of harvest home.

A lot of people moan about torrential rain when it happens, or when it’s blowing a gale or when the sun is blazing down- and it’s hot. The weather is just as much part of God’s creation as anything else, the weather we get is needed to keep us and everything else alive. The problem we are having is that we humans have been misusing the world and thus has caused the climate we need to change. We cannot control the weather but we can control what we do that is making it change. I pray that we can all do as much as we can to help the world recover in some way.

We all have knowledge, talents and skills, that can be used to help us and others to feel better, survive a crisis and live a happy and safe life. Our skills are God given and we are encouraged by Christ’s teachings to use them in the service of our Father. Everyone’s mix of skills and talents are different- I love crafting but couldn’t use a chainsaw to create like on the picture.
Thank God for all your talents and ask him to help you use them for and with him.
