Eternal God,
In the sorrow of our divided world, may we find joy in the love of Christ.
In the sorrow of inequality, may we find joy in the kindness of Christ.
In the sorrow of grief, may we find joy in the peace of Christ.
In the sorrow of our hearts, may we find joy in the gentleness of Christ.
Now and always. Amen.

Dragwyddol Dduw,

yng ngofid adegau o alar, boed inni ganfod llawenydd yn nhangnefedd Crist.
Yng ngofid ein calonnau ni, boed inni ganfod llawenydd yn addfwynder Crist,
yn awr a phob amser. Amen

A Chaplain’s Prayer: Lord, today I will encounter those struggling with life: the lost, the weary, the lonely. Amidst their pain and despair, help me to illuminate their lives with your kindness and compassion, let my words be encouraging and welcoming, and may they see in my eyes your love and acceptance.

Help me to point them towards moments of peace and show them glimmers of hope as they rest in your presence. May I take time today to remind all those I meet that they are a Child of God and loved beyond measure. Amen.

Thank you!

I am deeply grateful for all your support and solidarity for my Brave the Shave initiative in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged, prayed, and stood alongside me.
I am thrilled to share that, together, we raised double the original fundraising target!
This is more than a fundraising achievement, it is a beautiful expression of compassion and solidarity with people living with cancer, their families, and all who care for them.
Thank you for helping turn a simple act of shaving my head into a shared act of hope, love, and support.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Rev’d. Dr. Raj Patta

God of mercy and compassion,
We give thanks for the continued presence of your Church
in its many different forms, expressions and traditions,
at the heart of local communities,
close to home, and all around the world.
May that presence be a source of hope, support and encouragement
in times of suffering and uncertainty,
offering welcome, hospitality and the joy of connection and belonging
to those who need it most.
Strengthen our commitment to the work of Christian unity so that together we can better serve a wounded world,
in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God, as we turn to the news anticipating more headlines about pain and suffering, guard us against complacency and compassion fatigue, and strengthen our faith in your sovereignty over the world. Fill us with hope and resolve to make the world what you would have it be. Open our eyes to the little things, yet challenge us to look beyond our horizons to your bigger purposes. In the midst of those things that make us sad, help us to find and cherish moments of sustaining joy as we build God’s kingdom.

Creator God, our joy is in the beauty of creation, in the splendour of nature and in bringing well-being and peace to the lives of those we are called to serve.

Generous God, our hearts are filled with sorrow when humanity tears itself apart in war, in conflict, in the devaluing of individuals and of creation.

Pour into us your life-giving grace that we may be the light of heaven in the darkness of the world. May we strive to make the world a better place, strengthened by Christ who lives in and through us. Amen.

Creator God,
risen Christ,
life-giving Spirit,
You weep with those who weep,
you comfort those who mourn,
you bring beauty from the ashes,
you bring life from death,
your presence brings peace and joy.
For those who mourn and grieve and
need hope,
may they know your invitation to join
with you in the dance of life. Amen.

Creator God,
You breathe life into all creation;
you knit us together in our mother’s womb;
and you baptize us into one Body.
Pour out your Spirit and continue your
creative work within and among us:
Weave your hope through our life together
that we may catch glimpses of your glory;
Weave your light through our life together
that in the darkness we might see your way;
Weave your peace through our life together
that all may dwell in safety;
Weave your grace through our life together
that in all things your joy may be our strength;
Weave your love through our life together
that we may grow more fully into the likeness of Christ. Amen.
