A Prayer for Belfast - a statement from the Spiritualists' National Union - Thursday 11th June 2026. 🌻

"In the wake of the recent unrest in Belfast, we are reminded of how quickly a single act of violence can fracture communities and deepen sorrow. At a time when emotions run high and divisions can feel overwhelming, we must return to one of our most essential principles; THE BROTHERHOOD OF MAN, the understanding that every person is bound to one another through our shared humanity.

Today, more than ever, we are called to choose unity over division, compassion over anger, and dialogue over destruction.

Our freedom of speech is one of our greatest strengths, but with that freedom comes responsibility. Let us use our voices not to inflame tensions, but to uplift, to heal and to build bridges where other see walls.

Violence may capture attention, but it never creates solutions. Only understanding, empathy and collective effort can do that. Let us stand together – across communities, backgrounds, and beliefs, to affirm that nonviolence is not a passive stance, but a powerful commitment to shaping a better future.

In this moment let us choose the energy of love over hate, unity over fear, and hope over despair. Let our words and actions be a force for peace.

TONIGHT we welcome back guest medium DONNA DOYLE to platform for her Mediumship Demonstration 7.30pm-9pm.

Doors open from 7pm. £3 members / £4 non members.

We will be serving refreshments and running our weekly Raffle Prize Draw.

Everyone’s welcome to join us. Children welcome - Under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Today at 1pm in Manchester the Celebration of Life for our dear friend Pauline will be taking place. For those who are at the AFC this week for Manchester week there will be a very special Celebration of Life under the Tulip Tree and beside the bench there dedicated to her husband Minister Dennis Jackson which will be led by DC President Pat Redman. Pauline loved the college it was a very special place to them both. If you are unable to attend either event then please spend a moment in quiet reflection at 1pm to think of Pauline, her life and her dedication to Spiritualism, a truly wonderful lady who we will miss so very much but who we know is happy now back in the arms of her beloved husband ❤️
