Today we remembered St Luke with a Eucharist that included an opportunity for laying on of hands and anointing for healing, observed Black History Month by singing "We have a dream" (based on the speech by the Rev Dr Martin Luther King, Jr), and celebrated a birthday with a caterpillar cake. Today Andrew, Bishop of The Diocese of St Albans, was installed at St Albans Cathedral. It was an honour to attend (can you also spot honorary canon Andy?). We were very impressed that the bishop still has badges from the Easter Monday Pilgrimages of his youth. As he said, "We're on our way - the way of Christ, the way of life!"

We are getting ready to welcome on Saturday anyone raising money for Beds & Herts Historic Churches Trust (and their own local churches). We're a little off the beaten path, but worth a visit to see our unique Stations of the Cross mural paintings! Find us at the end of Filey Close in Stevenage.

Still Waters, meeting monthly. Come when you can for a gentle welcome, stories for the soul, and space to breathe. 3rd Wednesdays, 7.45-9.15 pm. 16 September; 21 October; 18 November; 16 December; 20 January. In the Parish Room at Holy Trinity Church.

We offer reflective storytelling as a meaningful and gentle way to connect with yourself, with others, and with the Holy Trinity (God, as we understand God). Give yourself space and time to notice your own thoughts, feelings, and prayers, and be a witness to the thoughts, feelings and prayers of others.

We shall respect you: We are not here to fix you, but to give you room to respond to the Holy Spirit. We shall all (except where the safety of a vulnerable person overrides this) agree to confidentiality.

Every Sunday, we invite people to bring a tin of food to share with our neighbours through the Foodshed. On Sunday the 19th you might like to bring a little extra! "One Town, One Table"!

Churches Together in Stevenage

Summer is a tough time for community food projects. What can you do to give extra support this month?

We collect for the Foodshed every week. Some of us will be at a donation rally on the 18th, and we're asking people to bring more food than usual on the 19th. Churches Together in Stevenage

The Church of England has acknowledged the pain, trauma and stigma experienced by many mothers, children and families as a result of historical adoption practices. This reflects a complex history, with very different experiences, and does not seek to make a blanket judgement on everyone involved. If this issue affects you, and you wish your story to be heard, please ring our parish office and we can make you an appointment with the vicar.

We looked at the church calendar today. We are now in the Great Green Growing season of "Ordinary Time". We heard part of the lesson about the church year, and a child helped us collect lots of green things to mark Ordinary Time. Then Reader Keith introduced us to the Bible books we shall be reading this summer.

Today (4 June) is Corpus Christi, a day of Thanksgiving for the Institution of the Holy Communion. We'll have a teaching Eucharist on Sunday (7 June) at 11.30 am, and this is one of the songs we'll be singing.

We made our Eucharist special for Pentecost this morning by including several languages: Telugu and Bahasa Indonesia as well as English. It's not too late to celebrate with us - come sing along with our community choir, The Christ the King Singers at 3 pm at church for our special Pentecost service: “Holy Spirit, we welcome you!”
