All Saints Church, Stevenage All Saints is a joint congregation of Anglicans and Methodists worshipping and working together.

Statement Of Safeguarding Principles

Every person has a value and dignity which comes directly from the creation of male and female in God's own image and likeness. Christians see this potential as fulfilled by God's re-creation of us in Christ. Among other things this implies a duty to value all people as bearing the image of God and therefore to protect them from harm. Principles
We are committ

ed to:

the care and nurture of, and respectful pastoral ministry with, all children, young people and adults;
the safeguarding and protection of all children, young people and adults when they are vulnerable;
the establishing of safe, caring communities which provide a loving environment where there is informed vigilance as to the dangers of abuse. We will carefully select and train all those with any responsibility within the Church, in line with Safer Recruitment principles, including the use of criminal records disclosures and registration with the relevant vetting and barring schemes. We will seek to:
work with anyone who has suffered abuse, developing with them an appropriate ministry of informed pastoral care;
challenge any abuse of power, especially by anyone in a position of trust;
offer pastoral care and support, including supervision and referral to the proper authorities, to any member of our church community known to have offended against a child, young person or vulnerable adult. In all these principles we will follow legislation, guidance and recognised good practice.Since we are an Eumenical Church this statement of principles is based on those recomended by the Methodist Church of Great Britain and the Church of England

The Rt Revd Dr Andrew Rumsey has formally become Bishop of St Albans, following the Confirmation of his Election yesterday at St Mary-le-Bow in the City of London.

When his appointment was announced earlier this year, Bishop Andrew described his return as “a homecoming”, reflecting on his roots in the Diocese where he was born and baptised.

The Confirmation of Election now enables him to take up the legal responsibilities of the role. Bishop Andrew will move to St Albans and begin his ministry in the Diocese later this year. Further steps will follow, including paying Homage to His Majesty the King and his installation at St Albans Cathedral on Saturday 19 September. Arrangements for tickets will be announced soon.

Today the Church remembers Julian of Norwich, writer, theologian and one of the great voices of hope in uncertain times.

Her words, written amid plague, political upheaval and personal suffering, still echo through places of prayer and pilgrimage today.

As pilgrims have come to St Albans Cathedral for centuries seeking peace, healing and refuge, Julian reminds us that faith is not the denial of fear, but hope that endures within it.

Join us this summer for a new series of reflections: 'Pilgrim Places, Holy Lives: A Gospel Journey With the English Saints'.

Running from 25 May to 21 June on the Everyday Faith app, these readings and reflections explore eight places which were important in the spread of Christianity in England, and the stories of the saints who lived there.

Access all our resources and find out more - including about our special pilgrimage-themed webinar next week - at cofe.io/Pilgrimage.

Sometimes what we call “resilience” is really quiet survival… and many hearts are still learning how to heal from what they had to carry too early. God sees every hidden wound. He doesn’t rush your healing... He walks with you through it. 💜

If you’re in that kind of season right now… you’re not alone. Take a moment today to be still, breathe, and let Him meet you right where you are. 🙏

🎧 Our new song Hallelujah in the Dark (Peace in the Storm) is out now - for the moments when faith feels quiet, but you choose it anyway. Link in bio on page.
