It's our Coffee Morning this Saturday 12th September from 10.30am-12.30pm at the church. Come along for refreshments, bacon sandwiches a raffle and lots of friendly chat! Our coffee mornings are on the second Saturday of every month.

We are delighted to announce that Revd Millie Day was licenced as the Associate Vicar of this church this evening. Bishop Malcolm conducted the service at St Mary Magdalene Church. We're really looking forward to getting to know Millie and her family as she settles into the benefice. Revd Millie will be celebrating here on Sunday 13th September.

Welcome to Rev Millie Day who was licensed this evening as Associate Vicar of our four churches, pictured here with our Vicar, Rev Diane Komorowski. The service was held at Outwood parish church and led by the Bishop of Wakefield, Malcolm Chamberlain. Come and meet Millie at St Peter’s at our 10.45am service this Sunday 13th September.

Our Tuesday lunch is delighted to have received a grant of £750 from the Hillards Charitable Trust towards the costs of running our lunch club. New members are always welcome to join us - every Tuesday at the church from 10.30am-1.30pm - for games, quizzes, crafts, singing, friendship and a hot lunch - for just £6.

The Tuesday lunch club at the church were delighted to win the Business/Community trophy for their Hansel and Gretel scarecrow! Thank you very much to everyone who voted for it. And congratulations to everyone for some really brilliant scarecrows this year. The trophy will be someone else’s next year as we’ve run out of ideas! So we’re going to take a pause from stuffing tights and pillowcases, finding mop-heads and outfits, and just enjoy looking at everyone else’s scarecrows!

We've got a busy weekend coming up soon - our Summer Fair is on Saturday 27th June 12pm-3pm with lots of stalls and refreshments, and the Stanley Community Singers concert is on Sunday 28th June at 3pm. Come and support your local choir!

We are delighted to announce that the Revd Millie Day, currently Assistant Curate in the Aire Benefice has been appointed as the Associate Vicar of the North Wakefield Benefice. The date of her licencing service has yet to be confirmed but we're looking forward to her joining the team.

About the new role Millie said "I am really excited about this new chapter and look forward to meeting you all and becoming part of parish life." Millie will introduce herself in full in the July edition of the benefice magazine.
