At its core St Chad's Church dates from the twelfth century, it is subsequently Stafford's oldest building. Filled with breath-taking Norman carvings, including the beautiful Chancel Arch, St Chad's Church provides a wonderful place to celebrate ones faith and we extend a warm welcome to all to join us in worship. This September we look forward to inviting you into St Chad’s to learn more about its history as part of the Heritage Open Days
Who established St Chads? Who helped build it? And who helps keeps the doors open nearly 900 years later? Join us to learn more about some famous figures associated with St Chad’s such as Izaac Walton (C17th author of ‘The compleat Angler’) Sir George Gilbert Scott (who drew the plans for the restoration of the church) and Henry Turkington (a generous benefactor) not forgetting the life of St Chad himself!
Free entry but donations welcome to help keep this wonderful church open … hopefully for a further 900 years.
