“Abram believed the Lord… (Gen 15:6)”. A simple phrase, but if we're honest with ourselves very hard to live out. Warren Wiersbe, in his great little commentary, wrote, "The Hebrew word translated 'believed' means to lean your whole weight upon.' Abraham leaned wholly on the promise of God & the God of the promise. We are not saved by making promises to God but by believing the promises of God."

The safest place for you and me to be is where we find ourselves leaning on our good Father rather than trying to stand on our own two feet. He delights when His children trust Him in every area of their lives. So let’s go about our day, not trying to stand on our two feet but rather leaning into Him.

Two simple words and yet some of the hardest to obey. In a world that rushes frantically by the command to be “Be Still” often requires more faith than anything else. The faith to know God is control. The faith to know it’s not all up to us. The faith to know that He is in our tomorrow. And that there are enough worries for today. “Be still and know that I am God..” (Ps 46:10)
