Last Sunday we were very pleased to welcome the Revd Kate Baker, a member of our congregation, as the celebrant. However, Fr Andrew Body, also a member of our congregation, preached on the Trinity, referencing the fact that the three colours red, green and blue, can create white when seen together on a spinning disc, and that a glove cannot pick up a book unless guided by a hand within. Thursday was the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Day of Thanksgiving for the Institution of Holy Communion. The Ven Alex Hughes, Archdeacon of Cambridge presided and preached at the evening Eucharist, that ended with Benediction. On Friday afternoon there was a funeral in All Saints, and although incense is not a prerequisite, Fr Barry chose to use it with interesting effect. This morning we are delighted to welcome the Revd Imogen Nay, vicar of St Paul's church, Cambridge and Bishop's Adviser for Climate, to preside and preach on the First Sunday after Trinity at our 10.15 sung Eucharist. All are very welcome.

Last Sunday we celebrated the feast of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples. Fr Barry Pate led the service and during his sermon had us thinking about how we have been affected by the Spirit ourselves. This morning the Revd Kate Baker will be the celebrant for Trinity Sunday, but Fr Andrew gets to preach on this difficult theology! All are welcome at our 10.15am sung Eucharist.

Today, a couple of our congregation enjoyed the wonderful 32°C heat by attending the Walsingham National Pilgrimage, a destination visited by thousands of people each year, and a trip conducted by our church on occasion over the years.

Last Sunday Fr Andrew was the celebrant for the Seventh Sunday of Easter. Elaine Midgley was the preacher, likening the disciples' period of waiting between Ascension and Pentecost to our position as a Parish, waiting for our new incumbent. At the end of the service one of our Lay Ministers, Canon Simon Kershaw, and his wife Karen received a blessing to celebrate 40 years of married bliss! Today Fr Andrew took the first wedding of the year, which was a joyful celebration of matrimony. Tomorrow morning Fr Barry will officiate at our 10.15 sung Eucharist, celebrating the Feast of Pentecost. also known as Whit Sunday. All are very welcome and with the current weather the west door will be open, so passersby can see what happens.

Last Sunday we welcomed the Revd Kate Baker, who has recently been licensed to officiate in our Parish, to celebrate the Sixth Sunday of Easter and she preached on the different qualities of love. Following the service there was the annual meeting of parishioners, at which our current churchwardens, Callum Dickerson and John Bacon, were elected unopposed for another term. Our thanks to them for their continued hard work during our interregnum. There then followed the Annual Parochial Church Meeting, chaired by Simon Kershaw, which concluded with an informative presentation of the accounts and the progress of the re-ordering of the church building. On Thursday Fr Barry celebrated the Ascension and started his sermon by reading Article IV, "Of the Resurrection of Christ", something with which we should all familiarise ourselves. This morning Fr Andrew will celebrate the seventh Sunday of the Easter season, and next Sunday is the Feast of Pentecost.
