Short reflection for the mass of the care for creation for this year.

Beloved in Christ, may the peace of the Lord be with you Amen.

Dear friends, as we celebrate the mass for the care of creation, the readings (Wisdom 13:1-9; Colossians 1:15-20 and Matthew 6:24-34) invite us to look at creation with wonder, gratitude and responsibility. The Book of Wisdom reminds us that through the beauty and greatness of created things, we can recognise their Creator- our living God. Creation is not simply something we possess; it is a gift that points us towards God.

St Paul also reminds us that “All things were created through him and for him.” Christ is at the centre of creation, and through him God desires to reconcile and renew all things. Therefore, caring for creation is also an expression of our faith in Christ.

Coming to the Gospel, Jesus tells us, “Do not worry about tomorrow.” He points to the birds of the air and the flowers of the field, reminding us of God’s loving providence. Yet this is not an invitation to be careless. Rather, it calls us to trust God and to live responsibly, resisting the temptation to make possessions, consumption and wealth our masters and controller.

On this Mass for the Care of Creation, let us ask ourselves: How am I caring for the gift God has entrusted to me? Small choices—avoiding waste, conserving water and energy, protecting and appreciating nature, and encouraging others to care for our common home—can become acts of love.

May God help us to become grateful stewards of creation, so that future generations may also recognise in its beauty the goodness of God - Amen.

Short reflection of the twenty-second Sunday of the year

Beloved in Christ, may the peace of the Lord be with you. Amen.

Dear friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that if anyone wants to be His follower, he or she must deny himself or herself, take up his or her cross, and follow Him (Matthew 16:21–27).

Let us strive to carry our daily crosses and responsibilities with joy and faith. Jesus will always strengthen us when we place our trust in Him. Therefore, take up your cross and follow Jesus, our Master.

Short reflection of the twenty first Sunday of the year.

Beloved in Christ, may the peace of the Lord be with you. Amen.

Dear friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus entrusts Peter with the authority and responsibility to lead His Church after Peter correctly responds to His question: “Who do people say that I am?” (Matthew 16:13–20).

Have you ever asked those around you what they think of you, or reflected on how you present yourself to others? If people were asked to give an account of your character, what would they say?

Peter was given the keys of the Church because he bore witness to the true identity of Jesus. Our Lord declares, “On this rock, I will build my Church.”

Therefore, we are called to continually examine our character and the way we relate to others. May our words and actions faithfully reflect Christ, so that God may be glorified in all we do (Matthew 5:16).

May God bless you abundantly and grant you a peaceful and fruitful week.
