A Fresh Look at the Gospel
The message of the Christian gospel is very simple, but
the Bible is a long and complicated book. What does it
actually say about God and how we can interact with
him? What does it mean to live a Christian life?
St Peter and St Paul’s, Gosberton, St Gilbert and St
Hugh’s, Gosberton Clough, and St Margaret’s,
Quadring are jointly holding regular discussions about
what the message of the Bible really means. They are
based around questions rather than answers, allowing
freedom to explore.
The series will begin on Thursday 3rd September in St
Gilbert and St Hugh’s church hall, Gosberton Clough.
Everyone welcome! Light refreshments provided.
Eugene Peterson writes:
In the life of faith each person discovers all the elements of a
unique and original adventure. We are prevented from
following in another’s footsteps and are called into
incomparable association with Christ. The Bible makes it clear
that every time that there is a story of faith it is completely
original. God’s creative genius is endless.
That is the journey that each one of us is on and these six weeks
are about exploring that journey.
We are going to look at a range of Bible verses and use those as
a basis for discussing what actually is the good news of Jesus
Christ, and then how we can be more effective in playing a part
in God’s Kingdom, both individually and as a church.
Starts Thursday 3rd September at 7 pm, but if you arrive a few
minutes early you can pick up a cup of tea or coffee.
Bring a Bible if you have one that you like to use at home and
a pen.
