SUNDAY, 7 SEPTEMBER
Our patronal festival is a vibrant and joyous occasion celebrated on the feast day of our patron saint The Blessed Virgin Mary. The celebration begins with a special service rich in symbolism, song, meaning and depth. It aims to foster unity, gratitude and spiritual reflection, celebrating the Parish Church’s place at the centre of our Town. Afterwards, we gather for a picnic that serves as a delightful opportunity for fellowship and relaxation. We then draw the day to a close in the evening with a celebratory service of Evensong.

This is a wonderful celebration for all ages within the community, combining worship and festivity to strengthen our communal bonds and celebrate our shared faith and tradition in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Today the choir had another lovely day out to Sutton on sea 🌊 The girls and boys had lots of fun burying each other in the sand, playing football, and they even used a windbreak to make their own game of volleyball 🏐
We also had a great time in the sea which was rather cold 🥶 🌊
The boys and girls were then treated to some ice creams and chips before home time 🍟
The coach today was funded by The Round Table.

Today the weather was good so the choir went to Sutton on sea! ☀️ We spent the day on the beach building sandcastles , playing cricket 🏏 and football ⚽️ and we even went in the sea where there were some big waves 🌊
Even Fr Rob joined us in the sea and and later showed off his cricket skills 🏏
Then the children had an ice lolly and some chips before we got back on the coach to go home 🏠
An enormous thank you to Philip Hall from Turner's Fish Shop for paying for our coach today!

Today the choir had a fun day filled with lots of activities! We started the day off at bowling where the children had lots of fun and even Revd Rob joined in for a game… ! 🎳
Then we headed to Surfleet park where we had our lunch and a little play in the park . 🍽️🛝
Next we headed to Bourne Swimming pool where the children had a fun time in the pool.🏊‍♂️
Then we had a quick stop at Burtey Fen where we had a milkshake and Nick showed everyone the organs and memorabilia . 🎹
Finally, we headed back to the church hall and had some chips from Turners fish shop after a fun day out ! 🍟

Today the choir had a lovely day out to the Pied Calf for some food, drink and even a dessert!🍔🍨 Then back to choir club for, what looked to be, a very intense game of volleyball in the church hall… 🏐

A big thank you to all the boys and girls for your continued hard work for the church. 🎶

Now onto a well deserved break - with 5 more Wednesday outings throughout the summer holidays ☀️

This evening The Revd Robert Parker-McGee was licensed as Vicar of Spalding, St Mary and St Nicolas by Bishop Stephen.
The service included representatives of the Church, the Local Mission Partnership, Ecumenical partners, local charities, schools and council.
