We had an excellent service on Saturday hearing about the work and ministry of AsiaLink. We’re looking forward to continuing conversations about sharing faith. Why not join us on Saturdays from 10am for brunch and 11am for an interactive service? There’s no cost for joining any of our gatherings at SCBC!

Happy new year! We're back tomorrow for brunch at 10am followed by our Saturday service at 11, where we'll be hearing about the work and ministry of AsiaLink https://www.asialink.org/. The snow is cold but the coffee is warm so why not join us for something a little different this weekend?

A little known fact about us!

We meet on Saturdays because our community is made up of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. With lots of services open Monday-Friday, and most churches meeting on Sundays, we noticed there was a gap to fill, and Saturday church was started.

Why not join us on Saturday to see what it’s all about? We’ll be sharing coffee & brunch together from 10am and reflecting on Joy this Advent season from 11-12.

❄️ Winter Night Shelter Update ❄️

We’re sadly not able to run a night shelter this winter. For the second year in a row, statutory funding was confirmed too late in the year for us to secure the additional grants needed to cover our costs (£9k announced in late October this year, and £20k in November last year) for a December start.

We’re fully committed to providing a shelter which is why we have offered our site, expertise and teams. The main barrier hasn’t been the amount itself, but the timing. Grant funders need us to confirm statutory support before we can apply.

We’re very open to conversations about winter 2026–27 so this doesn’t happen a third year running, as we know from experience how valuable a night shelter is to our community.

In the meantime, we’ll continue our usual winter evening drop-in, and we’d love your support with that instead. Please email [email protected] for more information about volunteering with us this winter.
