Avenue Baptist Church We are a group of ordinary, local people who are learning to love and trust one another under God’s rule. Seeking to serve others in the heart of Milton.

Our full-time minister is Rev Jane Guest. Jane was inducted as our full time Minister on the 31st July 2022. She is a former Havens Hospice Chaplain of 9 years and was Pastor on Canvey Island to ‘Leigh Beck’ Baptist. Jane was Ordained at Avenue 12 years ago. She is now looking forward to what God will do and how we can be like Jesus in serving the community altogether. Jane met husband Peter at Bi

rmingham Bible College and have been married 32 years. They have two lovely daughters and two beautiful grandchildren. Jane enjoys swimming and watching Wimbledon! Jim Kilpin has been a part-time Community Minister at Avenue Baptist Church since 2008. Working two days a week, his usual role is to help the church engage creatively with their surrounding communIty, and to experiment with new ways of doing mission and being church. Church without walls, labyrinths on Westcliff beach and work with our much loved group of adults with learning difficulties are just a few of the activities he has been involved in, although currently his time during pastoral vacancy is largely given to ensuring our Sunday services take place each week.
