Avenue Baptist Church We are a group of ordinary, local people who are learning to love and trust one another under God’s rule. Seeking to serve others in the heart of Milton.

Our full-time minister is Rev Jane Guest. Jane was inducted as our full time Minister on the 31st July 2022. She is a former Havens Hospice Chaplain of 9 years and was Pastor on Canvey Island to ‘Leigh Beck’ Baptist. Jane was Ordained at Avenue 12 years ago. She is now looking forward to what God will do and how we can be like Jesus in serving the community altogether. Jane met husband Peter at Bi

rmingham Bible College and have been married 32 years. They have two lovely daughters and two beautiful grandchildren. Jane enjoys swimming and watching Wimbledon! Jim Kilpin has been a part-time Community Minister at Avenue Baptist Church since 2008. Working two days a week, his usual role is to help the church engage creatively with their surrounding communIty, and to experiment with new ways of doing mission and being church. Church without walls, labyrinths on Westcliff beach and work with our much loved group of adults with learning difficulties are just a few of the activities he has been involved in, although currently his time during pastoral vacancy is largely given to ensuring our Sunday services take place each week.

AV4C are a dynamic, family-based gospel group made up of sisters and cousins, united by faith and a shared passion for worship. Known for their rich harmonies and contemporary sound, they create a powerful and engaging live experience.
They gained national recognition after reaching the semi-finals of The Voice UK in 2023, showcasing their distinctive gospel style to a wide audience.

With a fresh, modern approach, AV4C bring music that celebrates faith, hope and unity, creating an experience that resonates across generations, particularly for those aged 14+.

John Fisher & IDMC Gospel Soul Choir are a multi-award-winning UK gospel choir, led by acclaimed musical director John Fisher BEM. With over 30 years of performance history, they blend gospel, soul, jazz and R&B to create an energetic and inspiring live experience.

Finalists in BBC Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year and winners of Premier Gospel Radio Gospel Choir of the Year and the Urban Music Award for Best Gospel Act, they were also the first gospel choir to receive a MOBO nomination.

Having performed across the UK and Europe, including the London Olympics, IDMC continue to inspire audiences with music that carries a message of love, hope, joy and peace.
