Jesus had a simple yet brilliant plan for his Church; that it was to be a place of worship and a place of mi
ssion. We seek to join in with Jesus’ plan for his church locally in our community. We seek to ‘know Jesus and make him known’. Knowing Jesus…
As a community we seek to prioritize the worship of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Everything we do follows from our relationship with Him. So we seek to grow in our love of God, both individually and as a community. We commit to seeking the presence of God, we prioritise prayer, and we expect God to act in our world and speak to us. But as we encounter Jesus, we know that again and again he calls us out into our community.
… and making him known
We believe that our identity as part of God’s worldwide church is be a missionary community, a community that is completely committed to joining with God in transforming, reconciling and restoring his world. God is a missionary God and he is already at work in our communities. We seek to join him in this work. We strive to be a community that passionately, confidently and courageously shares our faith. We seek to be a community that transforms our world. What does this mean in practice? At the moment we are restricted by what we can do, but have been hosting our clothing bank on Wednesdays, delivering meals to those most in need, and partnering with other local churches, schools and organisations to reduce the impact of COVID-19
We prioritise prayer ministry and have prayer meetings on Tuesday mornings, Monday evenings and healing ministry during services
In usual times we run our newly refurbished cafe from our church building, used by many in our community including those who use our building such as Tots groups and children's groups
We have good relationships with many of the local schools and have an after school youth club 'SCOOCH' run out of our church building
We’re working with Christians in Townhill to run family events in the Townhill Community Centre
We participate with other local churches in a range of other activities at Christmas, Easter and other occasions
