Mechanix 2026 – We've been running vocational car mechanic training for over-14s since 2017. This year’s course is currently progressing.

The Mechanix course is run annually as part of St Andrew's Church's practical outreach work to local young people. The age range is Years 10 and 11, ages 14–16. Previous mechanical experience is not required.

Mechanix is open to male and female applicants and the young people are challenged to bring cars up to MOT level during evening sessions at Shawfix Autos and St Andrew's Centre.

Last year, Mechanix students restored a customised 1973 air-cooled Volkswagen Beetle, this year the car being worked on is a Mazda MX-5 (pictured).

Thank you to those who volunteer, and the staff at Shawfix Autos, who make this course possible.

Thank you very much to everyone who donated food at our 10:30am All Age Service on Sunday. Your gifts will be a blessing to those in our communities who find themselves in need at this current point in time.

Also, many thanks to the talented people who, with their floristry skills, make our two churches look so attractive at Harvest time.

Harvest Sunday – Please join us on Sunday (4th October), at our 10:30am All Age Service at St Andrew’s, to celebrate God’s generosity and provision.

We are encouraging donations of tinned and packaged goods as part of our thanksgiving for God’s generosity to us. Your gifts will be donated to two of our mission partners, Waterside Foodbank and Southampton City Mission, to assist those in our communities who find themselves in need.

Thank you for your support and generosity.

Also, a reminder:

This Sunday evening…

Churchyard Work Party – We'd love you to join us for our “Love Your Churchyard” work party at All Saints' Churchyard, Dibden, this Saturday (26th September), from 9am – 12noon (assuming the weather forecast remains good!), for as long or as little time as you have available.

There are many small tasks that need to be undertaken to maintain the area around the church itself, as well as across the wider area, to ensure the rampant weeds do not damage structures, such as the church and its surrounding old graves. The work does not have to be arduous, and many hands make light work.

Thank you for all that you do to support the churchyard, whether by working there, or by praying for this special place.

Refreshments will be available to keep you going, and if you are able to bring some tools with you, that would be great. We look forward to seeing you.
