As the pilgrims stand at Arafah on the most blessed of days thanking Allah for his enumerate blessings and seeking his divine favour and forgiveness, it’s imperative we understand and appreciate the significance of this occasion and make concerted attempts to draw closer to him via the performance of good deeds.

Tomorrow marks the 9th of Dhul Hijjah which corresponds to the blessed Day of Arafah with Eid Ul Adha falling on Wednesday (*Eid Khutbah 8:30am, Jama’ah 9am*) inshallah. It is a sacred day full of blessings and abundant opportunities to gain immense reward, as well as seek salvation. The Prophet ﷺ said, “_There is no day in which Allah sets free more souls from the fire of hell than on the day of Arafah_,” (Muslim).

Among the principal good deeds that have the greatest reward associated with them- especially for the non-hujjaaj- is Sadaqah (charity). Charity extinguishes our sins just like water extinguishes fire, so let’s take this opportunity to give generously towards noble causes, remember our brothers and sisters across the world, particularly Palestine, in our pious prayers and be sure to fast on this noble day.

Please don’t forget to remember Al-Hayat Centre in your duas and be sure to contribute wholeheartedly towards our Youth Centre supplies. We need to raise around £2000 in order to get it up and running and for that, we need your support inshallah. Please donate whatever you can via the justgiving link or account details below.

May Allah accept it on your behalf and on behalf of your loved ones. Barakallahu fikum.

On Tuesday 12th May, as part of our Islamic Studies Course, we welcomed back some of our former student to the madrassah to share their personal experiences on our Alumni Day 2026.

The session highlighted the importance of Islamic knowledge and how crucial it is to understand the fundamentals, and their usage and practicality in everyday life. The graduates shared how their Islamic knowledge has benefited them in different situations and experiences throughout their lives.

Drawing from their personal journeys, they emphasised the importance of making the most of the valuable years spent at madrassah and appreciating the value of time. As students currently studying at university and college, the girls also spoke about their academic journey in pursuing a wide range of subjects from psychology and Sports Science to Medicine and Law.

Other important topics discussed included friendships, surrounding oneself with good company, and the significance of listening to parents and elders.

The students also gained an insight into what life is like balancing studies with other responsibilities, and how Islam remains at the forefront of everything they do. The students were given the opportunity to ask questions and benefit from the advice and experiences shared by the graduates. Overall, they found the talks educational, informative and highly beneficial.

We pray Allah grants our graduates success in their studies and future endeavours, and we thank them once again for taking the time to speak with our students.

MAY PRAYER TIMETABLE, THE START OF ZUL-HIJJAH & EID-UL-ADHA ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to positive moonsighting reports locally and regionally, the blessed month of Zul-Hijjah in the UK begins tonight on Sunday 17th of May. This means that Tuesday the 26th of May will be the Day of Arafah, and Wednesday the 27th will be the Day of Eid-ul-Adha inshallah.

The Day of Arafah is one of the most special days of the year and fasting during it is highly recommended. The Prophet ﷺ said, ’_There is no day on which Allah (swt) frees people from the Fire more so than on the Day of ‘Arafah_. So let’s not let this opportunity to gain our Lords divine favour go to waste!

At Al-Hayat Centre, we will hold one Jama’ah for *Eid prayer at 9am* on WEDNESDAY inshallah. The khutbah will begin at 8:30. Please do join us with your families on the day. We welcome all men, women and children on this auspicious occasion.

Additionally, please save and share our May Prayer Timetable and join us with your families at the Centre for daily prayers. We look forward to seeing you all soon inshallah.
