We realise that grief can be very painful and The Bereavement Journey® has been designed to validate every person's experience and help them feel safe. There is no expectation to say or do anything. Participants make their own decisions about what feels right for them and they do their own grief work.
We will be running the bereavement journey course from Monday 28th September at 7pm (refreshments) to commence at 7.30pm – 9.30pm for 7 weeks. The course has films and discussion much like the format of Alpha. The course will be facilitated by Gillie Houghton (a trained counsellor) alongside some experienced volunteers.
It is suitable for anyone who has been bereaved, whether grieving a death now, or wanting to explore a previous bereavement that may be unresolved. It can also help those in anticipatory grief or pregnancy loss. This course supports peoples' own grief work and informs about the grief process and how to move forward healthily. It is suitable for anyone of any faith or non but the final optional session provides a Christian perspective to commonly asked faith questions in bereavement.
Topics include:-
- Attachment, separation & loss
- The pain and responses to grief
- Anger and guilt
- Coping with others reactions
- Delayed and suppressed grief
- Adjusting to change
- Moving forward healthily
- Faith questions
Please sign up using the link below and then we will be in touch before the course starts with some further questions which will help us to understand a little bit more about your bereavement experience and ensure that the course is suitable for you.
