This morning we were looking in coffee morning at lots of old photographs of St Jude's, its people and its community through the years - with some great images of all the other churches which closed to create the huge parish area that is Jude's today. Even if you don't live in the parish, you are very welcome to worship with us on Sundays - wherever you're from, whatever your background, whoever you love. No dress code, no reserved seats. We gather to begin worship at 10.30am

How about Church this morning? You are welcome. 10.30am
Today's reflection: Peter wants to protect Jesus from suffering — a reaction we recognise. But Jesus begins to show his disciples that the journey to Jerusalem leads to the cross, and that God’s plan is larger than their expectations. Today’s Gospel reminds us that discipleship is a path, not a shortcut, and that God prepares us for what lies ahead. The Church is not built on perfect followers, but on those whom Jesus keeps calling back into place, trusting his sovereignty rather than our own instincts.

Fabulous day 'in' Lisbon - very delicious Portuguese chicken stew, and our now pretty famous afternoon tea. And some beautiful tiles made by participants, no Port necessary (though there definitely were pastels de nata!)
Setting sail again tomorrow with breakfast from 10am as we head for Spain. Do join us if you're able 🇵🇹 🇪🇦

Today Jesus shows us radical hospitality. Even as he seeks space to process things going on, he still welcomes the crowds who flock to him, he listens, heals, and feeds them. The disciples see scarcity — “we have nothing but five loaves and two fish” — but Jesus sees possibility. When small gifts are offered to God, they become abundance. This is the pattern of the Kingdom: take, bless, break, share. Christ invites us to do the same — to offer what we have, however little it seems, and trust that God will make it more than enough.
You are welcome at church today: 10.30am for worship, fellowship and faith.

We would love to see you in church - St Jude's is a welcoming place for everyone, whatever your background, however strong your faith. We worship together at 10.30am on Sundays and we can't wait to see you.
In our readings this week Jesus reminds us that God’s Kingdom often begins small — like a mustard seed or a pinch of yeast — and grows quietly, steadily, sometimes unnoticed. The treasure and the pearl show us its worth: something worth seeking, worth valuing, worth shaping our lives around. Even when the world feels uncertain, God is at work in hidden ways. Our calling is simply to notice, to nurture, and to trust the slow, faithful growth of grace 🙏

It's Sunday - church o'clock! Join us as Christine reflects for us on Jesus’ parable of the wheat and the tares reminding us that we don’t see the whole picture. Good and bad grow together, and we are not the ones who sort them out. Our calling is patience, trust, and faithfulness — resisting the urge to judge too quickly, and remembering that God’s Kingdom often grows slowly and quietly. The seed is good; the harvest is God’s. Our task is simply to live with open hearts and attentive ears: “If you have ears, then hear.” 🌾🌽🌾🌽🌾🌽
10.30am - all welcome.

Maybe you've stayed up late for the football. Maybe you won't know what to do in the morning when you've finished celebrating. Why not come to church! This week Jesus reminds us that the seed — God’s Word, God’s hope, God’s life — is always good. The question is the soil. Some of us carry hardened places shaped by hurt; some have shallow soil that dries out quickly; some have thorns that choke what God longs to grow. But good soil is possible. In this season of growth, we’re invited to let God tend us: to loosen what is compacted, deepen what is thin, and clear what is overcrowded. When we do, his Word can take root and bear fruit beyond anything we imagine 🌱🙏 Sunday worship starts at 10.30 and all are welcome!
