St Mark and St Cuthbert Located right by Cleadon Park on Quarry Lane, this modern Church of England building houses a warm and welcoming community.

Whoever you are and whomever you love, you are welcome here. We try to model God’s love for us in our worship of him and in our service of others in our community and beyond. Our weekly worship is held at 10.30am on Sundays, and you can also still catch up with worship online at stpetersharton.org.uk/worship from 6pm on Sunday evenings. On Bible Sunday we celebrate far more than a collection of ancient books. The Bible tells one great story:
God's rescue mission for humanity. From Genesis to Revelation, its pages point to Christ, revealing a God
who refuses to abandon his people and who works throughout history to bring them home. As we read
Scripture, we are not simply learning rules or remembering events; we are discovering the story of a God
who knows us, loves us, and invites us to trust him. The Bible is the record of that invitation, and the good
news that through Christ we can find our place within God's story.

In this week’s Gospel (Luke 7:36-50), everyone sees the woman differently — Simon sees a sinner, the crowd sees a scandal, but Jesus sees a person longing for grace. Luke (well, Adam) reminds us that God meets us in our tears, our regrets, and our hope for change. The Church is called to do the same: to see people as God sees them, to offer welcome instead of labels, and to let grace shape how we live and how we love. Come and find the forgiveness, dignity and peace Jesus offers — and help us become a community where that grace is visible to all. 10.30am worship followed by coffee, all really are welcome in this place.

What are you thankful for? We have many blessings in this world, not just an agricultural harvest to be thankful for. Many people are grateful for help against food poverty, so if you can bring any of the long list below requested by the Foodbank to coffee morning, Sunday's Harvest Service, toddlers or uniformed organisations next week, we would be grateful for your generosity:

Are you already feeling the nights draw in and the autumn settle? If you would like some more company, why not join us for Friends, the 1st (that's today!) and 3rd Wednesday of the month? It's soup o'clock as we begin to get cosier and all are welcome, for a quick cuppa or until we throw you out ("encourage you to go home") From 12.30pm in church.
It's also harvest this weekend so if you're coming to Friends and want to bring something for the food bank, please do!
