First day of summer emergency rota this morning. 4 services this morning (8:00 St Peter’s, 9:00 St Michael’s, 10:00 St George’s, 11:00 St George’s) and 1 this evening (18:30 Evensong). Good job I’ve got a sports car!

I am planning to hold a Christmas “service/experience” this year in our Group of churches especially for neuro-divergent children. I have a friend who is an expert who has agreed to support me but thought I’d ask if anyone has any resources or experience they might like to share.

We want to create the best Christmas experience possible for those who might otherwise struggle to access crib services/Christingles etc.

It may be a service or simply a space that those who struggle with crowds and noise might come and experience something of the nativity. Any pointers gratefully received.

Looking forward to seeing as many as possible at our Anniversary Thanksgiving Services this morning. 8:30 BCP 9:30 Eucharist with Bishop Adam and 11:00 Parade Service with Bishop Adam. Come and join in the fun and the Praise to God for 60 years of ministry at St George’s!

Great pet blessing service this afternoon with a large enthusiastic crowd including a good number of doggy congregants. All went well until the final blessing when my slip of the tongue entreated a blessing from “The dog of all creation…” A bit embarrassing.

Just a reminder of our busy weekend ahead!

Saturday 4pm

Messy Church for all the family. Please do come along with our without children for our Messy Weekend. Activities for children and families, games for Teens, Seminar for unaccompanied adults, Prayer Room for all. All followed by dinner in the hall.

Sunday 9:30am

Holy Communion service with hymns and an inspiring sermon! (I’ll try anyway!)

Sunday 3:00pm

Pet blessing service in the church garden. An opportunity for us to give thanks for pets past and present, to ask God to bless them and us on our journey through life together and to meet and sniff some new friends (number of legs may vary between none and many). Should be great fun and a chance to reach out to the wider community. Bring a neighbour or friend!

Sunday 6:00pm

Our monthly intimate worship gathering in the Hospitality hub where we can draw near to Jesus and rest in his presence. To ask to be refilled with the Holy Spirit and offer our heartfelt worship to the Father.

I very much look forward to seeing you at one or all of these events. And now I must get on with writing yet another sermon!
