I want to invite you to our Christmas Carol Service this year. The reason is simple: we have a great story to tell about Jesus Christ. Jesus is introduced as 'Immanuel' in Matthew's Gospel, which means, 'God with us'. That's who Jesus was and is - the God who came down as the Saviour of the world.

One of the attitudes that can develop in a church is to believe that evangelism can only happen when the church puts on special 'events'. There is nothing wrong with such events, of course, but we mustn't forget that every service of worship is a special event, where Christ is proclaimed and the gospel preached! So we mustn't forget to ask our friends simply to come to church on Sunday and find out more.

Great article by Paul Brennan...

What if the best, most effective, evangelistic event we could come up with is actually right under our noses?! As it turns out, the best, most effective, evangelistic event is one that we are currently running 104 times a year. We do it twice, every week. It’s our Sunday services.

Our true needs go deeper than we think. That is why the birth of Jesus remains so important. He is the true Shepherd people really need.

We want to invite you to come to our Carol service on Sunday the 18th to sing some great carols, to hear a great story, and to find out why this message about Jesus is so important for our times, and important for you. It would be a delight to meet you!

Last night office bearers and potential office bearers from Solihull, Salford, Oxford and Cheltenham were led in a workshop on how elders and deacons can more effectively work together to care for the flock. We were led by Ben Thomas (pictured) and Henry DeBoer of Sovereign Grace Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC. 😀

Throughout the Bible the people of God prepared themselves for when God was to do great things. We believe God does great things for us when we gather to worship him. So let's prepare our hearts, arrive in good time, expect God to meet with us.

We gather at 11am and 5pm as usual at Tudor Grange Academy. Details on our website. All are welcome.
