From the beginning we wanted Little Fish to be different to many Toddler Groups, with a big emphasis on friendliness towards the adults as well as the children. For those of us who have been involved from the beginning it has always been about creating a space for community to flourish, and so we have always been intentional about making sure that the parents/ grandparents/carers are looked out fo

r as much as the children, recognising that the strains of looking after small children can be stressful and isolating. We believe in the importance of community, both the community that is Little Fish, and the community of the local area. We are always on the lookout for ways to engage with our community, and are keen to join in with local events, as well as encouraging people to volunteer and grow in confidence. 🌿🐻 We’re so excited to invite families to our next Making it REAL event inspired by the much-loved story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! 📚✨

Join us on Friday 5th June from 10:00–11:00 at New Beginnings Community for a fun-filled morning of:

🎵 Songs & stories
🎨 Crafts & creative activities
🐾 Pretend play adventures
🖌️ Messy play stations
💬 Opportunities to build communication, language and early literacy skills through play

This FREE session is for children aged 3–5 years (younger siblings welcome) and no booking is required.

Making it REAL (Raising Early Achievement in Literacy) helps families build learning into everyday life through stories, play, talking and shared experiences ❤️

We recognise the hugely important role parents and carers play in children’s communication and language, and we want your voice to help shape what is offered at National Literacy Trust in Black Country

The Parent Forum is a space where you can:
• Share your experiences of services and activities
• Help shape future support for families
• Be part of our “you said, we did” approach
• Stay involved between meetings with ideas and updates

Our first session is tomorrow, and everyone is welcome — whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or carer of a young child.
