Remembrance Sunday 2025. Each year we remember British and Commonwealth service personnel who died in the two World Wars and other conflicts around the world. At the end of our service we lay a wreath on our own Commonwealth Grave, which marks the final resting place of a Slough World War I pilot, Second Lieutenant Philip Charles Weaver-Adams, who died at the age of 19 just two weeks before the end of the war. His father and brother were well respected Slough doctors. Philip would have joined their ranks, had he survived. He is an example of all the young men and women whose potential remained unfulfilled as a result of the sacrifice they made for their country.

THE LATE GEORGE BOND, a much loved officer of the church and member of the congregation who is greatly missed, is shown here 'showing the ropes' to three younger members of the St Laurence family (now all fully grown with children of their own!). The bell is rarely heard now but it was rung this year to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.

The round window at the top features Uranus, the planet Herschel discovered. The window was made by stained glass artist Andrew Taylor. The dedicaion of the window was attended by TV astronomer the late Dr Heather Couper and surviving members of the Herschel family.
