In the summer of 1982, a Welsh Congregational Church was purchased and converted into a Mosque. This, however, was quickly outgrown and as a consequence of that, the old building was pulled down to make way for a new and improved version - the Mosque you see today. Construction began in 1999 and during this period, the Navel Club behind the site was purchased and used as a temporary building for d

aily prayers with Jummah (Friday congregation) being held in a hired hall. The completed Mosque was named the 'Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre' (JMIC) and although it had been in use from the year 2000, the official opening was on the 18th of May 2001 by His Excellency, Abdullah Sultan Al-Dhahiri - Director General of "The Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahayan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation". Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre (Slough) prides itself in being involved and helping the community and offers the following services:

✭ Janaaza (Funeral Prayer).
✭ Nikkah (Islamic Marriage Ceremony) - Advance booking is required with the Mosque Management (please get in touch for details). The centre is also registered with the Registrar of Marriage's Office.
✭ Registration of Individuals/Families to find a partner for marriage.
✭ Advice session for Health/Well-being (every Friday after Jummah Prayer).
✭ Advice session for Finance (every Friday after Jummah Prayer).
✭ Help and support on a wide variety of matters (provided they are relevant).
✭ Organised visits from Schools in the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Counties.
✭ Multi/Inter Faith visits and meetings.
✭ Visits by multiple agencies for Educational purposes.

*Doing your Qurbani/Udhiya locally this Eid?*

Why not donate a portion of your meat to support families in need *right here in Slough and surrounding areas?*

Many families are still *struggling with the cost of living or are living isolated lives in refugee homes and hostels* — your Qurbani can bring some relief to them this Eid!

Last year, we distributed *over 500kg of meat to families across Slough and neighbouring areas!*

📅 Drop off your meat on *Day 2 or 3 of Eid* and let *JMIC deliver it to those who need it most*.

*Did you know?* The four major Madhhabs agree that Qurbani meat should be divided into three parts:

1️⃣ One for your family
2️⃣ One for friends and relatives
3️⃣ One for the needy and less fortunate

_This beautiful Sunnah reminds us to share the blessings with all, especially those who struggle._

*“We have made sacrificial camels ˹and cattle˺ among the symbols of Allah, in which there is ˹much˺ good for you. So pronounce the Name of Allah over them when they are lined up ˹for sacrifice˺. Once they have fallen ˹lifeless˺ on their sides, you may eat from their meat, and feed the needy—those who do not beg, and those who do. In this way We have subjected these ˹animals˺ to you so that you may be grateful*. [Qur'an 22.36]

🕋 *Start of Dhul Hijjah 2026 & Eid al-Adha at JMIC Slough*

The first day of Dhul Hijjah 1447 will be on Monday 18th May. The Day of ‘Arafah will fall on Tuesday 26th, and Eid al-Adha will be on Wednesday 27th May.

These are the best days of the year, days in which righteous deeds are most beloved to Allah. Seize this opportunity by giving Sadaqah and multiplying your rewards.
