Come and support this community event in Leasingham Church, the oldest building in Leasingham , dedicated to St Andrew in 1235.
The acoustics should be amazing featuring the Rock Choir singing modern pop and rock songs.

Sunday@3 – Knowing the Story

Sunday@3 is about learning the story of our faith. May’s service was led by Corinna and Di. The service focussed on Ascension Day. This is an uplifting service for all ages and the format is quite different from an ordinary service. We always start with refreshments and a chat. There are no hymns but spiritually uplifting Christian songs. A short talk and discussion, we hope to be able to answer all your questions. Then afterwards we do activities, at our May service we coloured pictures and made bead bracelets whilst chatting about what Ascension meant to us personally. Everyone joined in with either colouring pictures of Jesus ascending to heaven and or making bracelets with five beads and a cross. The five beads are to represent the five people that we can pray for that they might know Jesus as we do. Some had already made their bracelets after following the God With Us booklet for Thy Kingdom Come Novena. We were small in number but large in enthusiasm.
Thank you to everyone who came along to learn more about our faith. Perhaps you might wish to come along to this All Age service (it really is all ages). Sunday the 15th of June at 3pm at All Saints Church Ruskington.

Messy Church was held at the Winchelsea Centre (it’s new home) in May where we explored the Parables (stories that Jesus told). We looked at several of them during

our craft, but the focus was on the wise and foolish builders. The wise man built his house upon the rock …..etc was our story and song. Reverend Al was very happy as
we were using Lego to build little houses (first picture) to enact the parable. It got messy with sand and water as the storm came tumbling down second picture). As always we said grace and finished with a communal meal. If you think this sounds like your kind of church then please come along to the next one on Saturday the 13th of June at 2pm. You are always welcome.

Reflection from the Rectory – Life in the Holy Spirit

We will have celebrated Pentecost by the time this newsletter is published, and I have been thinking ( I know!).If I were to ask you the following question, how might you respond. (I’m giving you lots of notice!) How is the Holy Spirit encouraging you in your Christian life? The receiving of the Holy Spirit by the disciples of Jesus was a time of wonder and joy, and without a little bit of what do we do now. That happens for us too. Being a disciple of Jesus is a wonderful and joyful calling. We serve in his name; to act his eyes, hands and feet in this modern world. Bringing comfort, love and kindness to those that we meet in his name. Annual Parochial Church Meetings are now complete, and I wish to welcome new Churchwardens and PCC members, thank those who are continuing in post and very grateful thanks to those who have stood down following years of faith service. Following Trinity Sunday on the 31st of May we enter the period of the church calendar known as Ordinary Time (Green is the colour of that season). It is far from being ordinary. It is a time when we can think about our sacrificial life in Jesus. There are no large festivals during this period so we can concentrate on building up our lives through service, study, community. Bible Studies will begin again in June with Reverend Rosemary leading off. Corinna will lead the monthly “beginners” offering and we will have an evening study during the summer which is offered to those wishing to know more and explore. Whatever you do in Jesus’ name thank you and I pray as the year goes on we might work together more closely in continuing that service. The Blessings. Reverend Al.
