Upper Slaithwaite Church, locally known as 'Shred' is a small, friendly Mission Church located in the hills above Slaithwaite. Built in 1845 on 'a shred of land', the church has a long history which has seen generations of families attend it's services, social events and sunday school. Please see below for further information or our newsletter. Family Services - Our family services are held once a
month at 11:15am. These are particularly child friendly, involving activities with the sunday school children. We greatly value community ties and know how important it is for young and old to get together. We would be happy to welcome you along. Special Services - We hold a number of special services throughout the year such as Harvest Festival, Carols and Nativity and Easter Sunday. Sunday School - Our Sunday school welcomes new children of all ages to share fun activities such as drawing, painting, sticking and gluing, playdough, Lego and Mobilo etc. as well as traditional indoor and outdoor games. The Sunday School is run by Annis and Sue, two experienced qualified primary school teachers, along with Margaret who is a life long member of Shred who leads the singing and musical activities. Social Events - Shred is well known in the local community for it's social events which include the annual whit walk, ladies lunches, games nights, evenings of music, comedy and theatre, and much more. For more information on our upcoming social events, please refer to our news letter. As from September 2016, 'The Shred Pre-School' will be running from our community room.
