St John Rigby Centre Reopens

On Sunday 30th August, we celebrated an important moment in the life of our parish with the reopening of the St John Rigby Centre.

After many months of work, planning and improvements, it was wonderful to welcome parishioners back into the centre and mark the occasion together. Around forty people joined us for Afternoon Tea, enjoying plenty of sandwiches, homemade cakes and good conversation.

Fr Kenny opened the gathering with a prayer of thanksgiving, giving thanks for all those who have contributed to the work of bringing the centre back into use. During the afternoon, Leann was also presented with a gift in recognition of the considerable time and effort she has given to overseeing and coordinating the refurbishment project.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the afternoon such a success, particularly those who arrived with surprise contributions of cakes and treats! The raffle and food parcels ensured that nobody went home empty-handed.

It was a lovely opportunity for parishioners to come together and celebrate not just a newly refurbished building, but a space that we hope will once again become a busy and valued part of parish and community life.

We currently have a selection of adult and children’s fiction books available at St John Rigby, free for anyone who would like them. If you are interested, please contact the parish office to arrange collection.

Whether you would like one book or several, you are very welcome to take them. Please note that they will be available on a first come, first served basis.
