This week we are celebrating ‘Love Your Burial Ground Week’, a time to appreciate the rich biodiversity found within our nation’s churchyards.

Our churchyard is a place of peace, remembrance and reflection, a cherished haven for wildlife and a beautiful space for our community to enjoy.

We give heartfelt thanks to everyone who cares for our churchyard and generously gives their time to help keep it well maintained. Their dedication ensures that it remains a welcoming place for all, a haven for wildlife and that it is preserved for future generations.

There are benches situated around the churchyard where you can pause for a while, listen to birdsong, watch the bees and insects at work, and simply enjoy the peace and beauty of this special place.

Why not take some time this week to visit, reflect, and appreciate the wonderful natural environment that surrounds our church? Or come along to our gardening group on Saturday anytime between 9.30-11.45am. Everyone welcome & every bit of help is appreciated.

During last week's Make & Mingle, we created these colourful hoop ribbon streamers for Family Camp

We had so much fun making them and can't wait for Family Camp to begin. It'll be wonderful to see the children enjoying them as they dance and flutter in the breeze around camp.

Our next 'Make & Mingle' drop in craft session is on Wednesday 17 June from 1-3pm. It's free to come along, bring a craft you are working on, pick up a project there or help us make things for community events such as the Sidlesham fete. All welcome - you don't even have to craft you can just pop in for a cuppa and a chat

Yesterday we celebrated Corpus Christi at our services & Choral Evensong.

Corpus Christi, which means “Body of Christ”, is a special feast in the Christian calendar that gives thanks for the gift of Holy Communion. It reminds us of Jesus’ words at the Last Supper and celebrates his continuing presence with his people through the sacrament of the Eucharist.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the celebrations so special.

As we continue in , we give thanks for all who serve and support our worship.

During each service, many important roles are carried out with reverence and care. Sacred items are brought to the altar, readings are shared, and worship is supported in countless ways. Each of these acts contributes to the dignity and prayerfulness of our services.

There are many ways people volunteer in services: the Sacristan ensures everything is prepared for worship and that the church is liturgically ready for each service. Welcoming people, organising rotas and readings, serving at the altar, carrying the cross, reading lessons & prayers, helping with children’s ministry, flower team who create arrangements every week, washing & ironing altar linens every week, the choir who lead the congregation in singing and much more. Every one of these roles is important and contributes to the life and worship of our church.

The next time you are in church, pause and consider that someone has prepared the vessels, vestments, candles, linens and other items needed for worship, ensuring everything is in place for the celebration of the Eucharist and at the end of the service someone quietly stays behind to put everything back. Their careful attention helps our services run smoothly week after week. Much of this work takes place quietly and often goes unseen, but it is a valuable contribution to our church community. We are grateful for the dedication, care, and faithful service of all who undertake these responsibilities.

Thank you to everyone who helps in any way for your faithful service and commitment to the life of our church.
