They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.
(𝗣𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝟭.𝟯, 𝗡𝗥𝗦𝗩𝘂𝗲)

It's the beginning of Lent and we're starting 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 with Psalm 1. It's an introduction to the entire book of Psalms and sets out the theme for the songs and prayers that follow.

The psalm draws a comparison between the person who follows the advice of the wicked, takes the path that sinners tread and sits in the company of scoffers and the person who 'delights in the law of the LORD', meditating on it day and night.

If we want to flourish and be fruitful, like the tree in verse 3, let's find joy in God's word and let it shape the way we live 🙏
