and St Julian's Church We also celebrate services on major feasts and saints' days.

The Church of the 318 Holy Fathers, Shrewsbury is a church of the Greek Orthodox Church (Ecumenical Patriarchate) within the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain. We maintain a full cycle of services, celebrated in English with some Greek, Romanian and Church Slavonic. Weekend services are at 6.00pm on Saturdays (Vespers/Evening Prayer) and 9.30am on Sunday mornings (Orthros/Morning prayer

and Divine Liturgy/Eucharist). In addition, the Paraklesis (service of intercession) to the Theotokos is served every Thursday at 7.00 pm. There is usually one Divine Liturgy during the week at either 8.00 am or 10.30.am. All details are on the calendar at our website - www.shrewsburyorthodox.com

On the first Sunday of the month the service is in Telford. Our services and church events are open to anyone - Orthodox or not - who would like to come and share in our life of worship and prayer. The Divine Liturgy on Sundays and feasts is followed by a time of fellowship to which all are also welcome. We also have regular youth activities with a youth club on the third Sunday of the month and Sunday School on the first Sunday of the month

We had a wonderful and blessed pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine of St. Melangell yesterday.
With people joining us from Chester, Worcester, Northampton, Lampeter, and a bus from Cardiff, plus pilgrims from other places, we persevered the heat together on a long climb to the Holy Well before Vespers in the church.
St. Melangell pray for us!

What a day for our parish! We celebrated our 40th anniversary Patronal Feast and marked the retirement of Father Stephen Maxfield.

His incredible leadership - over four decades - supported by the amazing Presvytera Catherine, has created the strong, vibrant and ever expanding community that we enjoy today.

The day started with Holy Matins and Divine Liturgy, presided over by His Grace Bishop Maximos, at the Church of the 318 Holy Fathers of Nicaea at Sutton.

We then all tucked into a spectacular Greek-Cypriot barbecue - more of those pics (and a video) later!
