Alpha course & Alpha intro evening
An invitation for you to join in if you live in or near the Shrewsbury area of Shropshire! We'll have a 'sample' session on Tuesday evening 15th of September and the rest of course will run from 20th October until the 15th of December in the centre of Shrewsbury in the Peach Tree.
ALPHA is a 10-week course “exploring the meaning of life.”
It originates from a Church in London and this course appeals to a lot of people, as it offers the chance to ask and explore lots of those “big questions” in life that we don’t usually get a chance to discuss.
• Why am I here?
• Where am I heading?
• What is life about?
• Is there more to life than this?
• What about good and evil?
• What happens when I die?
• Is there a God, how do you know, and can you meet God?
There’s lots of other people also interested in these questions too.
• 5 million people in the UK have already attended an Alpha course, across a variety of Church types around the UK.
• 37 million people have attended an Alpha course worldwide.
• This is for anyone who’s open to know more about life and explore a spiritual experience and faith.
• This is also for those who are Christians and want to go deeper and improve their relationship with God and to develop their faith.
• What is Christianity about and what are the claims?
• Is Britain a Christian country, what does that mean and is that changing?
There are already some people signed up and this is the format.
• It’s a social evening.
• Have a chat over a drink.
• Watch a talk together.
• Have a chance to discuss the talk in a group where you can literally ask anything or simply listen to others.
• Make some new friends in the process and have a fun evening.
This Alpha course is being done with one of the local churches.
We’re meeting in Room C22 (next to C21) at the Peach Tree restaurant opposite the Abbey at 20 Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, SY2 6AE.
It also looks like it’s the only Alpha course that’s been registered online with Alpha UK that’s going on in Shrewsbury centre this autumn.
People come to Alpha for many reasons, but they often keep coming back for something deeper.

3. A sense of belonging.
4. Space to explore faith.
5. Genuine hospitality.

We’re having an Alpha intro evening on Tuesday, the 15th of September with an Alpha talk,
“Is there more to life than this?”
It’s a chance to come along, find out more, see what it’s like, meet a few people and see if you’d like to come on the Alpha course.
All sorts of people come, different ages and different types.
You’d be welcome to come along for the intro night.
Come on your own or bring anyone else that you know with you.
Then if you think you’d like to attend the course, either sign up on the night or let me know beforehand.
We already have some people signed up to come along and you’d be very welcome to join us.
