Friends,

We have already emailed Parents/ Carers with the update from Girls' Brigade Scotland; however, some of you may have seen posts about Girls' Brigade Scotland closing in May 2027.

It is sad news that GB Scotland will be closing; however, as one Chapter Ends a New Chapter begins! 1st Shotts will be part of writing that ‘New Chapter’ as we plan to go forward as part of Girls’ Brigade Great Britain. We look back on fond & happy memories, but we also look forward in anticipation to the future and be glad that we are still part of THE GIRLS’ BRIGADE family!

So, no matter what you may hear, we will not be closing, and the Company will resume for the new Session on Wednesday 19 August 2026.

There will be some work for our Company leaders as we transition to become part of Girls’ Brigade Great Britain, but with the support of Parents/ Carers & Friends of the Company we will succeed. We will keep everyone informed as we go. As we said at the opening of our Display on 20 May 2026, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” [Jeremiah 29:11]

Please pray for our Girls’ Brigade Executive and office staff as this is a difficult time for everyone.

Enjoy the summer and we will see everyone in August!
