Welcome to Trinity Sunday - All are welcome to St Mary's for services at 8am and 10am today (please note no evening service tonight). The South door provides level access, if preferred.
Reflections on today's readings are often meaty...what is inspired in you? Matthew provides today's Gospel reading: consider, Mary & Mary have only recently delivered the news that Jesus' body was not at the tomb & that Jesus has asked them to go Galilee (v10); the 12 are still only 11 after the death of Judas; still, even now in Galilee, discerning their own understanding of all of the events in the Upper Room and the days since the Crucifixion; that there are still those in the group with doubts, and yet...
Jesus hands to these people a new role often called the Great Commission.
Lastly, for Trinity Sunday, it is an early (from ~75-80AD) Christian writing providing witness to the Trinity, a subject of great study, writing & debate across the following centuries.
Read for yourself; where are your thoughts guided? Where do you prayers lead you?
"16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”"
