As this Sunday (31 May) is the fifth Sunday of the month, we’re holding a Benefice Holy Communion service at 11:00am in St Peter’s in the Wood in Appleshaw, where the congregations of all five church’s in our Benefice (Fyfield, Appleshaw, Kimpton, Thruxton, and Shipton Bellinger) come together to worship. All are very welcome to attend.

We have not one, but two services tomorrow!!!

We start with Holy Communion in the cool of the church at 11:00am, and then meet at the allotments at 3:00pm for our popular Rogation Service.

☀️☀️☀️All are more than welcome to join us at either or both but, please be aware that the weather is forecast to be hot and sunny again tomorrow 🥵- please come to the allotments suitably dressed for the weather and wearing plenty of suncream. We move around the allotments during the service, so you may also wish to bring a portable seat, along with a hat and some water.

🧭📍To get to the allotments from the church, cross over the road and take the path that runs to the left of the drive for the vicarage, which brings you out by the garages at the end of Gilbert’s Green. Carey straight on until you meet the track. Turn right onto the track, and the gates to the allotments is a few strides down the track, on your left.

This week (17 May) we’re holding a Taíze-style service in St Peter’s at 6:00pm.

The Taizé Community is an ecumenical Christian monastic fraternity in Taizé, in Burgundy, France. Over 100,000 young people from around the world make pilgrimages to Taizé each year for prayer, bible study, sharing, and communal work. Services are dominated by music which emphasizes simple phrases, usually lines from Psalms or other pieces of Scripture, repeated creating a meditative atmosphere. Our service incorporates Taizé chants with hymns and prayers.
