Notes from the Vicarage: Why do we celebrate Mothering Sunday? It is lovely to say thank you to our mums, with a posy of flowers, or to light a candle of remembrance. But perhaps it is also something to do with the part that mothers play in creating and supporting community. Being a good mother is a fundamental building block of family life, and families are essential in community life. This week we give thanks for all that our mothers have given to us, to our families, and to our community.
We are sorry and frustrated that we are continuing to experience difficulties with our live streaming of services via Facebook and YouTube due to reduced internet service at church. We are working hard to resolve the problem and apologise. In the meantime, we are hoping to record the services on a Sunday and then upload to the usual sites as soon as possible. via Facebook Live

Notes from the Vicarage: In Africa’s poorest villages, HIV/AIDS, orphaned children and poverty are at overwhelming levels and support structures are very low. Institutional models of care, such as hospitals and orphanages, are overwhelmed and unable to cope with the sheer volume of needed care. Hands at Work is striving to reach the most vulnerable, those that would not have been reached otherwise. Come and hear more about Hands at Work in Africa in our service this week.
It is Breakfast Church at St Andrew’s with Trinity so do join us for breakfast from 9am, or worship from 10.30am.

Notes from the Vicarage: In a world where things are changing so fast it’s easy to get left behind. It can feel like a young person’s world!
But in our readings this week we hear of God calling two older people to set out on a new life of faith. Abram in the old Testament and Nicodemus being challenged to be born again!
We are never too old to hear God’s call!
