One of the things we love about Compassion UK is that their work is rooted in the local church.

Compassion partners with churches who know their communities, understand local needs, and are already serving children and families with love and care.

That means sponsorship is not just about sending support from a distance. It is about strengthening local churches as they come alongside children, helping them grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially and economically.

This Sunday we’ll be hearing more about Compassion’s work and how we can be part of bringing hope to children living in poverty.

This Sunday we’re looking forward to welcoming Compassion UK to Lighthouse.

Compassion UK is a Christian child development charity working with local churches around the world to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Through their work, children receive practical support, care, encouragement, and the opportunity to hear just how loved they are by Jesus.

We’ll be hearing more about Compassion’s work during our Sunday service, and how local churches are helping bring hope and lasting change to children and families living in poverty.

We’re starting a brand new Foundations series!

We’ll be looking at some popular films and exploring the messages and themes within them through a Christian lens.

First up is The Lion King.

Simba’s story is full of guilt, fear, identity, and redemption. While it’s not a Christian film, it raises questions that connect with truths we find throughout the Bible.

What happens when we listen to the voice of fear instead of the voice of truth? What happens when we run from our past? And how do we remember who God says we are?
