Team members, and Brett from Anglican Society, braved the cold to offer ashing today (Ash Wednesday) outside the Students' Union. As ever, several people stopped to be ashed and/or ask about it.

Being the first Ash Wednesday that the team is based at 205 Brook Hill, we had a photo there too!

Ash Wednesday is an important day in the Christian calendar, marking the start of Lent: a six-week period of reflection leading to Easter.

Ashing is a Christian ritual performed on Ash Wednesday. It involves marking people on their forehead with an ash cross, using burnt palm leaves that have completely cooled down.
