🌟 JOY – Joining Old and Young – is back next week! 🌟

📅 Wednesday 9th September

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back after our summer break! 🥰

Some of our little ones are heading off to school 🎒, which means we now have a few spaces available in our lovely intergenerational group.

JOY brings together parents/carers and little ones under 5 👶 and seniors over 60 👵👴 to spend time together, make friendships, have fun and enjoy lunch together. 💛

If you, or someone you know, would enjoy being part of our friendly JOY community at St Paul’s, we’d love to hear from you.

Not long until we’re taking part in the Heritage Open Days Festival. We’ll be open on Thursday 17th September in the morning and Saturday 19th September 10am-3pm.

The Church, a Grade II* Listed Building designed by Sir Basil Spence, will be open 1000-1500 with talks at 1100 & 1300 by Diana Philips about Beryl Dean, who did the embroidery for the Altar Frontal at St Paul's. Refreshments will be served throughout.

We loved having Greentop Community Circus with us yesterday for our third Community meal.

Our hall and church garden was filled with over 40 children & parents from across Parson Cross; many of us meeting each other for the first time.

We played; learnt new circus skills; created some fab craft work and ate great pizza together.

Thanks to SOAR, Chilypep. Lindsay TARA & Longley 4G, and other local partners, for trusting us by helping spread the word 🙂

We know how difficult the six week holidays are, especially for parents of SEN children. On Saturday, we invited some parents and their children for fun and pizza!!!

It was an opportunity for the children to play together in a safe space, with some chilled areas with sensory toys, whilst the parents could relax and share experiences together. There was also the opportunity to do crafts together.

Thanks to Pride in Place for their support, we got the questionnaires completed from a SEN child and parent perspective.

It good time was had by all.

At Coffee Drop-in this week, our Parish Nurse, Sophie led a ten minute 'rock and roll' chairobics session. Both our guests and the team enthusiastically joined in. There was much fun and laughter as well as a gentle work out.

This was a experiment and Sophie is hoping to run a session once a month at Coffee Drop in.
