According to medical journal The Lancet, Ultra processed foods increase the risk of developing; Type 2 Diabetes, Depression and Cardiovasular Disease.

Wesley Hall Food Club allows young people to engage with food on their level to gain confidence, before challenging them to engage with fresher, less processed ingredients.

We got a special delivery yesterday as the cooking equipment that we had ordered courtesy of a grant from Southwest LAC came to us. 🍳🍽️🔪

There was particular excitement about the Wok and the process of ordering this equipment, led to a feeling of ownership, which in turn made them more engaged with the cleaning phase of the club.

Last night's dish, Sweet Soy Chicken and Rice 🍗🍽️

All the young people agreed that this was the tastiest meal we have made so far and have all taken the cooking instructions home so that they can cook the meal for their families. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑
