'MUNCH AND MINGLE' TOMORROW MORNING AT 10.00 a.m. - ST AIDANS IS BACK IN BUSINESS!!

Our refurbishment programme is completed and we are open as usual from Saturday 5th September - it's been a busy few weeks, but we are sure you will think it worth it - why not call in tomorrow morning and see us for a bacon/sausage butty, a cuppa and a chat - see what we have spent our Lottery Grant on and maybe make some new friends - we can't wait to see you.

GRAND RE-OPENING ‘MUNCH & MINGLE’ AT ST AIDANS – COME ALONG TO SHARE OUR LOTTERY FUNDING SUCCESS!

The September ‘Munch and Mingle’ on Saturday 5th September at St Aidans Church and Community Hall will be a celebration of our lottery funding success – a new entrance that is more accessible, and new toilets, mainly thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund and South Yorkshire Community Foundation – come along and find out how we have spent the money!

Please feel free to join us for the usual bacon/sausage sandwiches, drinks and good company (not forgetting the stalls and raffle!).

IT’S NEARLY TIME FOR THE MID-SUMMER ‘MUNCH & MINGLE’ AT ST AIDANS – BUT CAN YOU HELP ON ‘THE BIG CLEAR OUT’?

After the August ‘Munch and Mingle’ on Saturday 1st August, St Aidans Church and Community Hall will be closing for a month whilst we have some major improvements carried out – a new entrance that is more accessible, and new toilets – it’s a huge project and will make such a difference to St Aidans, mainly thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund and South Yorkshire Community Foundation – but we need to clear everything out of the toilet area to enable the contractors to begin work – can you help?

‘Munch and Mingle’ will be as normal on Saturday 1st August, so please feel free to join us for the usual bacon/sausage sandwiches, drinks and good company (not forgetting the stalls and raffle!). At 12 noon when ‘Munch and Mingle’ is finished, we need as many people as possible to help moving chairs/tables and other items from their current storage place into the Meeting Room – it should only take an hour or so, but the more the merrier! If you can help, please just turn up and you will be made very welcome!

SUMMER’S HERE, AND THE TIME IS RIGHT FOR…. ‘MUNCH & MINGLE’ AT ST AIDANS – BUT WITH A DIFFERENCE – COME ALONG TO MEET OXSPRING GREEN CHAMPIONS AND SEE HOW YOU CAN HELP……

The Oxspring Green Champions (formerly the Titivators) are organising a day for local residents to help out with jobs around the village. These vary from weeding, litter picking, cleaning and generally improving our local environment.

There will be two starting times 10:30 & 1:30 pm. Help out for as long (or short) as you are able to.

Come along to the July ‘Munch and Mingle’ at St Aidans and find out what is available and where. One of our volunteers will be based at each work location.
Please do bring with you some gloves and basic tools i.e. trowel/fork/secateurs or some soapy water and cleaning cloths.

IT WAS 'HAPPY 90th BIRTHDAY' TO ST AIDANS CHURCH AND 'POP IN' MEMBER - ELAINE MARSH....

Elaine Marsh celebrated her 90th birthday recently with an Afternoon Tea at St Aidans along with her family and friends from the church and Oxspring Friends Pop In Club - it was a lovely afternoon and everyone was entertained by the wonderful Ralph Shaw who sang and played his ukelele - thanks to all who made it such a lovely celebration for a lovely lady - Happy Birthday Elaine from everyone in Oxspring!!

THE SEVEN HILL STOMPERS AT ST AIDANS.....

7 Hills Stompers ( Pen*stone Line Dancers) are a Line Dancing Group who meet at St Aidans on Tuesday afternoons from 2.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
We are currently at capacity and are unable to welcome any new dancers t the present time, but we will be sure to announce when we are able to re-open the register.

A Line Dancing Group also meets on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. It is an advanced group and unfortunately we are not able to accommodate beginners.

IT'S ALMOST TIME TO 'MUNCH AND MINGLE' AGAIN AT ST AIDANS!

Don't forget to put Saturday 6th June in your diary for our summer 'Munch and Mingle'. We've got two new stall holders for you to browse, one is flower arrangements and the other is home-made preserves and sweets. In addition to our usual stallholders, our popular raffle, and of course bacon/sausage sandwiches, a cuppa and a natter - what are you waiting for?

It's all to raise funds for St Aidans Church and Oxspring Friends, both of which are here to help the community of Oxspring come together and include everyone in village life - we can't wait to see you on the 6th!!

IN MEMORY OF SHIRLEY HORN....
Everyone at Oxspring Pop-In Group would like to thank Frank and the Horn family for their kind donation following the passing of Shirley. Shirley was a regular attender at the Pop-In Group at St Aidans Church and Community Hall, and she always enjoyed a sing-a-long!

Sadly, she passed away just after her 90th birthday, which everyone at Pop-In celebrated with her - cake and a wee toast were very much enjoyed by everyone!!

Oxspring Pop-In Group meets every Wednesday between 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. and everyone is welcome - it's a really friendly group and they would be delighted to see you.
