Transformation Sheffield
What is Transformation Sheffield? Transformation Sheffield is a ‘cause’ seeking to see Sheffield city & region transformed into the place God always intended it to be. This is primarily through prayer, through worship, through listening to God, through personal transformation, often aided by personal ministry. It is dependent on ‘the prophetic’. It is a move based around
a weekly meeting, but can & does involve ‘working’ together with other prayer & intercession movements across the city & elsewhere as God prompts. We have learnt to handle God’s presence with open palms & resist grabbing hold of the Holy Spirit. The presence of God through the Holy Spirit is a vital & essential element of Transformation Sheffield. UNITY of the body is a vital part of city transformation. Transformation Sheffield is independent of churches & denominations primarily because by being independent we are hopefully able to set by example a broad church approach to transformation though prayer, intercession & action. This gives us the ability to stay separated out to be focused on the original call, the same call that draws people today after 11 years. However, we are blessed to be protected by the authority of the ministers of Greenhill Methodist Church & have been since the start in 2001, for which we are & have always been very grateful. Over the years we have hosted & also been blessed by the presence of minsters, & speakers from Sheffield, the UK & the USA who have the same heart for transformation & revival. Out of many of these visits prophetic words have been shared regarding Sheffield. Many personal words have been received that have made the purpose & direction for individuals clearer. Many we have witness point the recipients to great lives mostly where they will be used to change the environment where God has placed them. It’s important to note that Transformation Sheffield isn’t a new church or a place to only experience or soak in God’s presence, good as this is. As we have grown closer to Jesus & ask Him to lead us in every meeting, each week has different characteristics. As the Spirit leads the evening, the type of music, the format of the evening & who ‘speaks’ varies. The extended ‘worship/soaking’ has become a vital element of meetings. During this time the Lord washes & removes the grim of the day or week, preparing us all so that we can hear Him. These could be characteristics of many Holy Spirit meeting but the difference is that transforming times here point towards city & national transformation. It has & is evolving as Holy Spirit leads. We hold God’s presence very lightly in our hands. We don’t try & manipulate God to serve our needs & insecurities. We are amazed weekly that God wants to be amongst us, wants to bless us, guide us, & reveal Himself to us. The fruit of the Transformation Sheffield:
We haven’t seen Sheffield transformed – yet! Many people have been blessed, many lives have been changed, & local initiatives tell us that the prayers that emanate from Transformation Sheffield have made a difference. Connections between others around the city have been made that have developed in to long lasting friendships & service based on a common desire to see transformation & revival. We have just entered a new season (spiritually) & there is much expectation & anticipation the God is about to bring in a period that we have never experienced before.
