It’s been another great Formation Day at Whirlow Spirituality Centre for our Baptist ministers in training. Today we explored the theme “Slow Wisdom and Discerning the Mind of Christ”, inviting space for attentiveness, prayerful listening, and faithful discernment in ministry.

We’re grateful to Revd Dr Ruth Moriarty for her generous and insightful contribution, helping us engage deeply with wisdom that is formed over time, in community, and in Christ.

Great to meet old friends and new at the 2026 assembly in Harrogate. We were privileged to welcome several dozen new ministers having reached their accreditation all across the UK, plus we marked the passing and faithful service of others.
We began a shared conversation about our purpose in mission, and we welcomed as our new president for the coming year.
We also had a really great chats with people considering whether Baptist Ministry is for them: we love that kind of conversation do get in touch if that’s you.

It’s been a full and inspiring day for us!

We gathered our Ministers in Training at Whirlow Spirituality Centre to explore Growing an Inter‑Ethnic Church with Rev. Dr. Israel Olofinjana - challenging, hopeful, and deeply enriching conversations. Meanwhile, our Director Nick has been contributing to the Baptist Union Council residential.

Grateful for the wisdom, energy, and commitment across our community today.
