St Mark's, Broomhill and Broomhall St Mark’s is an open, welcoming church for people from all walks of life.

St Mark’s is affiliated to Inclusive Church and the Progressive Church Network and we are committed to fostering a spirit of openness, generosity and inclusivity. The parish is located on the west side of Sheffield within easy access of the city centre and open countryside. The outcome of pastoral reorganisation in 1998, it comprises two distinct communities – Broomhall and Broomhill. Broomhall is full of contrasts, embracing rich ethnic diversity and a range of housing stock. Hosting faculties of Sheffield Hallam University, it is well-served by local groups committed to ensuring difference is a source of enrichment rather than the grounds for discontent. Broomhill, incorporating Sheffield University, teaching hospitals and a number of schools, supports a large student and professional population served by a vibrant culture of shops, services and amenities, as well as by community groups seeking to improve the quality of living for residents.

SAVE THE DATE - 5 September at 6pm
There will be an opportunity to see the highly successful short play Trio that was produced by the Sheffield University Drama Society and performed at the Buxton Fringe this year. An exploration of Virgina Woolf and her relationship with Vita Sackville West and Dame Ethel Smyth, not only did the show sell out, but Alison Munro won Best Actress at the Fringe. Christine Heery and Anne Padget complete the set. Donations at the door and all proceeds go towards their costume store.

🚨SUDS member, Alison Munro won the Buxton Fringe Best Actor Award for her performance as Ethel Smyth in Trio. Congratulations, Alison, and thoroughly well deserved! 💓

Alison said: "I was utterly astonished and flattered to receive the award, as I had no idea they existed. However, I firmly believe that Trio contained THREE award worthy performances, and that Anne Padget and Chris Heery share this. I am profoundly grateful to Ian, who wrote all the funny and poignant lines that I am sure won attention. The whole experience, from the rehearsed reading workshop through to Buxton, is a tribute to SUDS' commitment to writing, performance and flying the flag for drama. I'm a lucky and thankful person." 🥰
