Gather at Sheffield Cathedral this Sunday as we are joined by our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi.

Our two choirs will join in singing before the Blessed Sacrament before we all process together to St Marie’s Cathedral for a final Benediction. In our joyful singing and dancing we celebrate all that unites us, and we pray that God would heal our divisions.

The Trinity is a complex truth which is impossible to fully comprehend, and faith in God asks us to enter into mystery, to meet with curiosity the One who creates, saves, and sustains.

Our Triune God is not an academic puzzle to solve, but an invitation to all of humanity, to enter into a relationship of love, to love and be loved by God, to be held by and rest in the eternal love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came like wind and flame, drawing people from many nations into the good news of Jesus Christ. The miracle was not that all difference disappeared, but that people from many languages and cultures were gathered into one story of hope.

This Sunday, as we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, we give thanks for the same Spirit at work among us today: gathering people from many places, nations and cultures into one Cathedral community of worship, prayer and welcome.
Come, Holy Spirit. our souls inspire, and lighten us with celestial fire.
