St Marie’s Cathedral will host a special time of prayer in loving memory of Baby S on Saturday 19 September, from 4.00 to 6.00 pm.

Everyone is warmly invited to come together in prayer, light a candle or lay flowers. Afterwards, refreshments will be served in Houlden Hall. There will also be a collection of baby clothes, toys, books and other baby items to support Slovak and Roma families in need.

Today, we were truly blessed to welcome the sacred relics of Saint Gerard Majella to St. Marie's Cathedral.

The 12:30 p.m. Mass was a beautiful celebration of faith, followed by the veneration of the relics—a deeply prayerful and grace-filled opportunity for the faithful to seek the intercession of this beloved saint.

We are deeply grateful for this special occasion. May the example of Saint Gerard Majella inspire us to grow in holiness, humility, and unwavering trust in God. May his prayers bring hope, healing, and abundant blessings to all who came to venerate his relics today.

Today, 27 June, we joyfully celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, our loving Mother, who never ceases to intercede for her children.

In every trial, sorrow, and uncertainty, Mary gently leads us to her Son, Jesus Christ, reminding us that God's mercy is always near and that His love never fails.

As we honour Our Lady today, let us entrust to her our families, our Cathedral, the sick, the lonely, and all who seek hope and consolation. May she obtain for us the grace to remain faithful, courageous, and filled with trust in God's providence.

𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲'𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗹

Last Sunday, we gathered in prayer and witness for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.

The procession, accompanying Our Lord through the city centre of Sheffield, was a public expression of faith, devotion and gratitude.

Together, we honoured the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. It was a joyful and prayerful occasion that reflected the unity and faith of our Cathedral family.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and helped make this special celebration possible.

Eileen Maher, on behalf of the PPC, made a presentation today to Bishop Ralph in thanksgiving for his 12 years as Bishop of Hallam.

The picture of St Alphonsus Liguori was purchased following discussions about a suitable gift for the Bishop. It will remain in Houlden Hall.

Commenting on the gift, Bishop Ralph said how good it was to see a picture of a young St Alphonsus, as he is often depicted as an old man. He thanked everyone for their thoughtful gift.
