Low Sunday, 12th April, our morning worship is at 1030 and everyone will be very welcome to join us. We’re just by the 51 and 252 bus stop at Gleadless Townend.

Did you know that this Sunday, the Sunday after Easter, is known as Low Sunday?

Low Sunday is the traditional name for the first Sunday after Easter (the second Sunday of Eastertide), marking the end of the Easter octave. It is termed "low" to contrast with the high solemnity of Easter Day, often experiencing lower church attendance. Modern liturgy officially calls this day the Second Sunday of Easter or Divine Mercy Sunday

Open our hearts to claim and cherish our shared calling to be your disciples, sharing our life and faith across traditions with grace and joy. This Holy Week there are a few special services to mark this most solemn period in the Church Year.

On Maundy Thursday there is a joint service at Hollinsend Methodist Church.

On Good Friday there is a united service at Gleadless at 7pm.

Palm Sunday marks the start of Holy Week, as we again follow Jesus through the last days of his earthly life.

On Tuesday, at 7.00pm we conclude our series of studies looking at Stephen Cottrell’s book’The things he did’. This week’ he brkoe bread’.

Our Lent study series continues on Tuesday 17th March -1.30 at Hollinsend Methodist Church and 7.00pm at Gleadless. We continue to explore Stephen Cottrell’s book ‘The things he did’, looking at Jesus’ actions during the week leading up to his resurrection.

We’re right opposite Sainsbury’s at Gleadless Townend. Car parking available but also good for public transport; the 51 bus stops right outside and the Townend tram stop is only a few metres away.
