We're thinking of and praying for all the staff, children and young people for whom this week brings the start of the new academic year. Some are returning to familiar schools and reuniting with old friends, others are going to new schools and will make brand new friends.
We're praying that you will all flourish in this new academic year. ❤️🙏

Today’s the day! ✌️

We’re hosting our last (for now) youth social for 11-17 year olds, and we’d love to see as many of your young people there as possible.

It’s a chilled space to hang out, make friends, and just be - no pressure, no judgment.

If you know a young person who’s been finding things tough lately, this is a great chance for them to connect with others who get it - and find out about a service that can support them.

📍 Sheerness Salvation Army Hall
🕑 14:00 - 16:00 (drop in whenever)

See you there! 🙌

This Saturday our friends from NexYouth will be using our hall on the High Street to host a Youth Hub. If you are a young person who is looking for something positive to do this Saturday afternoon, then why not sign up and go along to their youth social!

Come see us on Saturday for our last Youth Social (for now 👀)

As always free snacks, activities and the option to chat to trusted and safe adults. If you know a young person who needs some connection, or could do with getting out of the house for a bit before school starts next week, send them our way!

Share this with a parent who's young person should join us!

What a powerful afternoon we experienced as we gathered 'Together @ 4pm' today. Martin brilliantly interviewed Carl after sharing some thoughts from John 8.
Carl shared honestly and openly about his life including the choices that he made that meant that he went from being a high-flying financier living a life of luxury in America to ending up serving a 10 year prison sentence and then being deported to England with absolutely nothing and arriving on the Isle of Sheppey where we've been delighted to welcome Carl into our Church family in the last 6 months.
Carl shared from his heart some really deep things and inspired us to think about the grace of Jesus who Carl cried out to for forgiveness and found that as he did that his feelings of shame were lifted.
One of the songs we sang today was 'My Jesus, My Saviour' which lifted our hearts in worship and focused our minds on the promise that we have in God who promises us new life in Christ, a hope and a future.
Carl reminded us that God is always there - even when we turn our back on him through the choices we make, he doesn't turn his back on us.
All of us who gathered today were moved powerfully by Carl's testimony of how God is at work in his life and we prayed for Carl asking that God would powerfully use him to share the good news of hope and transformation that Carl has found in Jesus with others.
Carl has a YouTube channel and podcasts sharing words of encouragement and hope with others and has amazing opportunities to come alongside people and give them the gift of a listening ear which is just beautiful. Keep your eyes 👀 peeled, because there is a book of Carl's story going to print very soon! 📙
