All the best to those starting school, moving on to a new school, back to work, starting university, starting new jobs, starting new activities. September always brings new beginnings. Why not come along to St Mary’s this Sunday for our new service of Celebration of the Word, led by the Motcombe team.

Services and events this week:

Thursday 7.30-9pm: Bellringers Practice
Saturday 10am: North transcept preparation for redecoration - bring brushes!

Next Sunday’s service is a Celebration of the Word by the Motcombe team at 9.30am. Everyone more than welcome and there might be cake afterwards!!

September already. The season traditionally of harvest. Days start to get shorter. Leaves turn. New school years begin. There’s a change in the air. It’s a good time of year to reflect on the year so far and the rest of the year to come. Blessings!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Church Fair today. We hope you had fun. Thanks to everyone who helped, donated, hooked ducks, ate cake and whose teddies flew down the zip wire. Same time next year!

Good morning! Tomorrow is St Mary’s Church Fair. We seem blighted by the weather forecast but we’re still up for it! We’ll take a decision in the morning whether to be inside or out, so do still come and support us!! 1.30-4.30pm, cream teas served from 3-4.30pm. Teddy flights may be delayed due to weather - but will go ahead in between showers - we hope!

A change in the weather coming, but no change in the fun expected at next Saturday’s Church Fair!!

Services and events this week:

Thursday 7.30-9pm: Bellringers Practice

Saturday 1.30-4.30pm: Church Fair with lots of stalls, games and cream teas (served from 3pm).

Next Sunday there is no service at St Mary’s but at 10am there is a Team Service at Margaret Marsh to which everyone is welcome.

The annual Dorset Historic Churches Trust will be holding its “Ride and Stride” on Saturday 12th September. This is your chance to visit any of the beautiful churches in Dorset and to raise sponsorship money to go towards the upkeep of all these churches. (You do not have to be religious to enjoy the beauty of these churches in our Dorset countryside and they all need looking after!)
Cyclists or walkers are welcome to choose their own route and to go individually or as a group, to visit as few or as many of these churches as they like. If this appeals to you and you would enjoy a day out in these beautiful churches, then contact Simon Hutchinson on (01747) 854290 to get your paperwork.
For any of you who would like to sponsor Simon or any of the other participants, there will be a sponsorship form at the back of St Mary’s Church.

Just a reminder the service tomorrow is a Parish Communion with Revd Donna at 9.30am. Refreshments afterwards. You will be made most welcome.
