It's been a busy day for us at Stanley Street Church. There was an assembly this morning at Seaham Trinity Primary School where the children listened well and had some fascinating questions at the end. This afternoon we held a short service in Cedar Court Care Home, the room was full with some residents joining in from the doorway to the lounge. They were on top form singing, toe tapping, clapping and joining in with actions. Our own Betty joined in with the actions one handed, a broken arm doesn't stop Betty. A great day for us in our community.

We're a talented bunch at Stanley Street Church. Lots of people took part in our service, Eva and Jimmy Collings played the piano, Jimmy sang a solo, Caroline Rabbetts played the recorder and Anita, Betty, Deborah and Eric read. Sue Faulkner interviewed Clare Deighton, got Hannah and Anita to help with a visual aid and spoke to us. There was still plenty to talk about after the service but no time for refreshments today.
After the normal service we were able to welcome a beautiful little girl to the church through baptism when it was great to see all the support from her family and friends.

We had a wonderful Pentecost Sunday service today at Stanley Street Church. Anita reminded us of the first day of Pentecost which brought the Church into being. Just as people from all over the world heard about the love of God that day, still today everyone needs to know that God loves them and has a plan for their lives. There was plenty of time after the service to chat over a cuppa and biscuits. Join us on Sundays at 10.30am, everyone is welcome.
