Another busy day for Stanley Street Church, we visited Cedar Court Nursing Home where the residents and visitors were in good spirits and good voice. As well as singing, there was lots of toe-tapping, clapping and joining in with actions. Our own Betty, at 95, read a poem for the "old people" and Jimmy Collings solo had everyone enthralled.
There was also the first visit of the year to New Seaham Academy for the assembly where the children listened well to the story. It was a joy to see their wonderful smiling faces again after the summer holidays. And there's still the Bible Study on Zoom to come.

We had a brilliant morning at Stanley Street Church, everyone was in good spirits and with good reason. We were blessed by having 5 young people with us and every one of them helped. Eva welcomed everyone with an individual Bible verse to bless us, Hannah was busy taking the offering, serving at communion and taking many of our photos. Zara and Zacchi helped with the refreshments including the washing up and Max counted the offering.
It was a joy to welcome Linda Teagle Lindsay as a Church member before we shared in communion. Linda had brought some homemade cakes for after the service so there was plenty of cake-eating, talking and laughing as we celebrated another good start to the week.
Join us any week, we're a friendly bunch. There's no dress code so come as you are. Everyone is welcome.

As Summer is coming to an end and the children return to school you may be thinking about making some changes in your life. At Stanley Street Church we find getting together a great way to start the week. We're a friendly bunch, who enjoy a good chat both before and after the service. Most weeks after the service we chat over a cuppa and biscuits (sometimes there's homemade cake 🍰😋). There's no dress code so come as you are.

We are humbled by their sacrifice and grateful for the peace and freedom which we enjoy because of their service.

As pupils, teachers and other staff get ready to go back to school, we at Stanley Street Church are praying for a good year. We hope that those starting new schools or moving into different classes will soon settle in. We look forward to taking assemblies at New Seaham Academy and Seaham Trinity Primary School when the new term begins.

We can't say that all roads lead to Stanley Street Church but we are delighted with the new road sign on Station Road that will help people find us. We are grateful Cllr Barry Taylor of Seaham Town Council for a grant towards the cost and for helping us to get it. We are also grateful to Cllr Andrew Harrison and the members of staff at Durham County Council for all their help in making it happen.
